About War Child UK

War Child UK is the only specialist charity for children affected by conflict. For more than two decades they’ve been driven by a single goal – for no child’s life to be torn apart by war. They aim to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out and stay to support them through their recovery – keeping them safe, helping them learn and cope with their experiences, and equipping them with skills for the future. They understand children’s needs, respect their rights, and put them at the centre of the solution and campaign for changes to policies and practices to support children in conflict, working with children and young people themselves to demand their rights. Together with their partners they deliver vital, life-saving work in 15 countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and Latin America. In 2019 alone, they reached over 100,000 children.

About The BRIT Awards – British Record Industry Trust

The BRIT (British Record Industry Trust) Awards are organised by the BPI – the UK record labels’ association that promotes British music. The BPI’s membership is made up of over 500 labels as well as the UK’s three major record companies – collectively they account for around 85 percent of the music consumed in the UK and around 1 in 10 global streams.

The BRIT Awards 2022 with Mastercard will be the 42nd  BRIT Awards show. The BRIT Trust is the music industry’s charity, with a mission to improve lives through the power of music, and is funded in large part through monies raised annually by The BRIT Awards and the Music Industry Trusts (MITS) Award.  Since its founding by UK record labels and the BPI in 1989, the Trust has distributed over £27 million to a broad range of progressive charities that promote education and wellbeing through music, with over half this amount going to The BRIT School, the UK’s leading performing and creative arts school that is free to attend, and Nordoff Robbins, the UK’s largest music therapy provider.  Other charities among many others supported include Mind, to promote good mental health in schools, the music industry and the workplace; Music Support, the addictions and mental health charity; East London Arts & Music (ELAM), the free school sixth form; and Key4Life, which seeks to help young men in prison, or who are at risk of ending up there, a way out from a life of crime by drawing on their passion for music.
