“Thank you Glasgow, you’re beautiful as always.” – Primal Scream, Main Stage

“I just feel so lucky to be here because I am one of the people in the crowd and I have managed to slip through the net and end up on stage!”– Sam McTrusty Twin Atlantic, Main Stage

Today’s live action included hometown sets for Primal Scream, Twin Atlantic, Lucia & the Best Boys, Declan Welsh & the Decadent West and more, as well as performances from some of the UK’s brightest stars including KSI, Becky Hill and Sea Girls.

Geoff Ellis, Festival Director at TRNSMT said: “It was the night we’ve all been waiting for and it surpassed my wildest expectations.

“Today, fans enjoyed some of the most memorable performances to ever grace the stage at Glasgow Green.

“I want to remind anybody attending again tomorrow to take another lateral flow test to ensure the negative result they displayed on entry on day one and two isn’t more than 48 hours old. This is really important.

“It’s hard to see how we can top Saturday but I’m pretty sure we’ll give it a try with the amazing acts we have lined up tomorrow. ”

Glasgow Green was the backdrop for another day of live music, the city’s tastiest street food from Big Feed on Tour and fans enjoying the full festival experience with a dance or two at The Boogie Bar or chilling out in the new Wellbeing Area.

As the sun set across the festival site, fans knew it was almost time for something special as cinch presents TRNSMT prepared to welcome back Liam Gallagher. Saturday night’s headliner has long since proclaimed his love for Scottish fans, and now it was time for the big reunion.

The opener, Oasis favourite ‘Hello’, set the tone with a mass singalong and the appropriate lyric “It’s Good To Be Back”. The frontman enjoyed every second, launching into ‘Morning Glory’ before dedicating ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’ to Primal Scream, saying “This is for Primal Scream, the best rock and roll band to come out of Scotland”.

Performing hits from both solo albums as well as Oasis classics including ‘Wall of Glass’, and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’, the fans made sure Liam felt the love. With a back catalogue tailor-made for unforgettable festival moments, Liam Gallagher launched into an encore which included ‘Roll With It’ and ‘Live Forever’ before signing off with the evergreen ‘Wonderwall’.

It was a day for homegrown heroes and rising stars on the festival’s Main Stage as Scottish icons Primal Scream performed one of the sets of the weekend, bringing their era-defining tunes to cinch presents TRNSMT Festival for the very first time.

Enthralling the crowd with hits like ‘Jailbird’ and ‘Country Girl’, and clearly delighted to be back in Glasgow, frontman Bobby Gillespie said “You ready to move it on up Glasgow?”

Fresh from a sold-out Midnight Show at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Friday night, rapper KSI proved exactly why he’s one of the UK’s most exciting stars, performing huge tunes from his UK No1 album, like ‘Holiday’. The YouTube star turned singer, was introduced by none other than Lorraine Kelly, who he admits to having a shrine to.

Airdrie singer Nathan Evans was first up on today’s bill and opened with his Number 1 hit ‘Wellerman (Sea Shanty)’ followed by a Scottish favourite, ‘Caledonia’. Edinburgh’s Vistas took to the Main Stage followed by indie-rockers Sea Girls, Picture This and Keane as the sun shone down on the Green. Rounding off the Scottish contingent for the day, Twin Atlantic returned to the festival for the first time since the inaugural event in 2017. Performing tracks from 2020’s ‘POWER’, recorded in a studio within walking distance of the Green, as well as singalong festival hits including ‘Heart and Soul’ and latest single ‘Bang On The Gong’.

Backstage before their performance frontman Sam McTrusty admitted to having pre-show nerves saying, “I feel a lot of pressure today on a big stage, I am nervous. It’s like I have an exam or getting married… It feels surreal to be playing as like everyone else we have just been sitting at home and now we are in a field with thousands! We feel privileged to be part of it and help people get back to normal again.” The band had nothing to worry about as the crowd welcomed them back with open arms from the very first second.

There was no time to waste at the King Tut’s Stage as it played host to a collective of rising superstars including sets from Mike McKenzie, Voodoos, Miraa May and The Murder Capital.

Homegrown Glasgow artists Dylan John Thomas and Declan Welsh & the Decadent West performed at the festival for the first time on the King Tut’s Stage. Having already supported Liam Gallagher and Gerry Cinnamon on UK tours, Dylan John Thomas is a star on the rise and showed exactly why he’s one of the buzziest names in the industry as he brought his blend of folk indie rock to the stage. Shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year Award in 2020, East Kilbride outfit Declan Welsh & the DecadentWest reminded the crowd exactly why their debut album made such a huge splash, with the frontman saying “Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts for being here – we were a wee bit nervous before this…this means a lot!”

The singer-songwriter performed fan favourites from her debut album ‘Only Honest on the Weekend’ saying “Who here is ready for the afterglow?”, before launching into huge tunes ‘Afterglow’ and ‘Wish You Well’.

Known for spotlighting breakthrough acts, the River Stage was a feast for music fans today with sets from Glasgow’s own Lucia & the Best Boys, Baby Queen, Spyres and more. Fans could also show off their dance moves at The Boogie Bar, enjoying tunes from Elisha, Pretty Ugly and many more.
