Calypso Jet, debut’s EP, Nineties – set for release on 21st May 2021 via Sun Turtle Records.

Storming into 2021 off the back of five self-released singles, twenty-seven-year-old Ayrshire Electronic Music Producer, Blair Innes, aka Calypso Jet, has been setting the bar high in the UK dance scene. His debut EP, Nineties is set for release on 21st May 2021 via Sun Turtle Records

BBC Introducing in Scotland have been flying the Calypso Jet flag, with his self-produced house music receiving regular airplay. Lead track from the EP, Love Me Better, was recently selected by Phoebe I-H and Shereen Cutkelvin as their ‘Track of the Week’ on their BBC Radio Scotland show on 7th May 2021 (Listen here). On the 14th May 2021, Calypso Jet’s DJ Mix for the show airs (Listen Here), and the Official Video for Love Me Better and EP pre-orders are released.

Drawing influences from Daft Punk, Elliot Adamson, LF System and Leo Pol, the EP, delivers four 90’s inspired dance anthems that are worthy of gracing any Ibiza party or nightclub. Calypso Jet utilises addictive vocal samples that hook listeners from the off with EP opener Orange Soda. Title track Nineties focuses on progressive rhythms before a crescendo of vocal and synth hooks throughout. Love Me Better and EP closer Flamingo showcases Calypso Jet’s consistency and certifies Nineties EP as the go to soundtrack of the summer. Private link to stream EP here
