Three-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated, multi-platinum, and chart-topping singer/songwriter Camila Cabello has been unveiled as HUNGER Magazine’s latest cover star. In the accompanying interview, Camila discusses her turn to acting in fairy-tale remake Cinderella, the no.1 streaming movie on Amazon right now, advocating for human rights issues in Cuba and battling body image issues (order the issue here).

In July, Camila released track ‘Don’t Go Yet’, her first new release since 2019 platinum-certified #1 album, Romance. The new track will also appear on her upcoming third full-length album, Familia.

On learning to prioritise her mental health:

“If it’s affecting my mental health in a negative way, I’ll say no and do it another way.”

On drawing inspiration from Billie Eilish ’s latest album:

“I saw this quote from Billie where she said, ‘I wasn’t scared, it wasn’t forced, there was no pressure, it was just really nice.’ And I feel the same way about this album’s process for me.”

On advocating for Cuban social issues:

“When I’m in the United States, showing the beautiful part of Cuban culture, I feel like I also have to be there for the hard part, for the people there who are struggling.”

On opening up about body image online:

“Next time there are pictures of me where my belly is out, there’s gonna be a community of women who have heard me talk about the way that makes me feel and who support me. And that is honestly so liberating.”
