Rising electronic pop producer and singer Emily Atkinson, aka Fourth Daughter, has today released her emotionally charged new single Look What You’ve Done via Music Is Fun. With an arresting blend of pulsating synths, luminous soundscapes and her own radiantly haunting vocals, listening to Fourth Daughter feels like bathing in the Balearic sun.

The track emerged from a creative experiment where Fourth Daughter challenged herself to make a new beat every day for 10 days, sharing each one on social media, now matter how rough or ready they were with the process, helping her overcome perfectionism and fatigue from traditional songwriting.

Growing up the youngest of four daughters, for Emily Atkinson music was a way of escaping the boredom of her small-town-life in the Scottish countryside and imagining a fantasy world of esoteric beats and sunkissed beach clubs.

Her obsession with music exploded while exploring her parents synth-heavy CD collection and soon enough she dove in head first, and emerged as a classically trained pianist inspired by the likes of Rufus Du Sol, Jamie XX, and Sylvan Esso to name a few.

Recently shortlisted for the 2024 BBC Introducing Scottish Act of the Year and set to perform on the BBC Introducing stage at Latitude Festival with Autumn / Winter dates to be announced, Fourth Daughter is establishing herself as one of electronic music’s most exciting rising talents.
