Young Ayrshire three-piece band, ‘Monsanto’, are set to play their first headline gig at ‘Venue 38’, Ayr on the 14th of December to celebrate the release of their latest demo, ‘Trees Blowing West’. Ash, Lead Vocals / Bass (18), Logan, Guitar / Backing Vocals (18) and Fraser, Drums / Backing Vocals (16), all HNC Music Students at Ayrshire College only formed the band in April 2023 and have already signed a development deal with Ayrshire based record label, ‘Sun Turtle Records’ having impressed with their raw energy and potential at previous performances in and around Ayrshire in May 2023.

‘Trees Blowing West’, a slower, more melodic song than their previous demo, ‘Party Princess’ reflects lyrically about an ex-girlfriend that always left you feeling that everything was your fault. As the song progresses, becoming more aggressive, the realisation sets in that this was not the case.

Drawing influences from bands such as, ‘Queens of The Stone Age’, ‘Sonic Youth’, ‘Swim School’, ‘Deftones’ and ‘Turnstile’, ‘Monsanto’ are already making waves in the Scottish music scene after their stellar performances in Glasgow and Dunfermline supporting touring band ‘Coping’

Tickets for the 14+ show are available from Sun Turtle Records. Doors are 6:45pm and support acts include Call Connie, Abbie Gordon and The Reveries. https://sunturtlerecords.bigcartel.com/
