oday, prolific young Leeds artist Gemini Aaliyah shares her hypnotising new single ‘After Hours’, supported by Launchpad. Existing somewhere between bright alt-rock and pulsing hyperpop, the track is brewed from an eclectic cauldron of influences, including Paramore, Yung Lean and Billie Eilish.

Lyrically, ‘After Hours’ portrays Gemini’s connection to witchcraft and the magical realm being suppressed as she is trapped within an institution, where she is convinced her contact with magical beings is illusionary. It follows January’s haunting ‘Moonrise’ as Gemini’s second single of 2022, ahead of a forthcoming project due later this year, and arrives accompanied by an eerie music video.

Of the single, Gemini shares: “I’m a witch girl and a weirdo. I wrote the lyrics to tell the struggle of a witch girl in a modern world, where people tell you magic is an illusion, a society that views magic as madness. Finn, my producer/life partner, is from a family of punks, I’m a child of the moon and together we make our music on a laptop. This song summoned all those elements.”
