Brighton Indie-Pop/Soul Newcomer’s everywhere/nowhere EP Released 25th Feb 2022

Ivor Novello Awards ‘Inside Track’ artist, ALFIE NEALE, is pleased to reveal his blissed-out new single ‘Lifetime’ which is released on 28th January 2022.

The track is the latest to be taken from the Brighton-based indie-pop/soul singer, songwriter, and producer’s forthcoming everywhere/nowhere EP, set for release on 25th February 2022.

Commenting on the track, Neale says: “Lifetime’s really about the beauty of simplicity within a relationship—not exactly understanding what it is to be loved but understanding and appreciating that it feels good. The chorus compares a lot of really positive situations which are few and far between compared to the ease of just being with that person you’re supposed to be with. I guess love can be harder to find compared to ‘Sunday morning sunlight’ for instance, but once you’ve got it you know you’ll be loved for a long time—there’s really not much that tops it.”

Working with Ivor Novello Award-winning producer Cassell The Beatmaker (MNEK, Plan B, The Streets, Akala) on the new collection of songs, everywhere/nowhere is Neale’s most accomplished and fully realised work to date.

“I had a couple of midday until 6pm days booked in with Cass for our first studio sessions,” enthuses Neale on working with the renowned producer. “I ended up staying until about 11pm each day wishing I was going back to the studio the next day instead of back to work. The level that he works at is another from any studio experience I’ve had before and I’ve not met anyone in the industry who works as hard as he does.”

“He’s a really inspiring guy—the amount of time he spent listening to the same 5 second loop in the studio until it was right really instilled a new level of work ethic and persistence in me, and the guidance he’s given me has been crazy. Cass is such a down-to-earth guy and the days we had in the studio making this music were some of my favourite days of the year.”

The track follows on from the EP’s lead single ‘I Don’t Wanna Dance’ which featured guest vocals from Isaiah Dreads, and turned heads at Amazing Radio, The Unsigned Guide and a host of tastemaker blogs including Gig Goer, Alfitude, Press Play OK, The AU Review, The Phonograph and more.

More info:

Originally from Dorset and now based in Brighton, England, Alfie Neale’s sound is an emotive and brave mix of styles, incorporating elements of soul, disco, jazz and hip-hop.

Neale’s influences range from the modern soul of Amy Winehouse and Anderson .Paak to classics from The Doobie Brothers and George Benson, reflecting his wilful, genre-hopping tendencies. With one self-release under his belt already, and now revealing subtly different facets of his character, Neale’s unique soulful vocal sits always as the centrepiece, bringing a coherence to a sound that is all his own.

Previous tracks have received radio plays from BBC introducing and Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2, as well as playlist support at Spotify on Next Wave Neo Soul, Our Generation, and Good Energy.

Previously embarking on two UK support tours with Cassia, along with a string of headline shows of his own, his roof-raising energy and soul-bearing performances have seen him rise from nowhere to a sell-out headline show at Brighton’s 350 capacity The Haunt venue in less than 12 months.
