Jack Savoretti ends his UK Tour at a Sold Out Eventim Apollo in London

On 13th April Jack Savoretti finished his UK tour with a sellout show at London’s Eventim Apollo –  the tour promoting the upcoming re-release of his 2021 album Europiana, with added tracks, on 20th May.

Support was in the form of Cande Y Paulo, an Argentinian jazz duo whose debut, self-titled album was released last year.  Whilst their music would fit nicely in the background of a dinner party, they seemed a strange choice as an opener.

Jack received a warm welcome to the stage before launching into one of the songs from his latest album, Europiana, followed up by the slower What More Can I Do.  The primarily seated audience were clearly enjoying themselves and were happy to oblige when asked to take to their feet for song number 3 When We Were Lovers, from his 2016 album Sleep No More.

The set was a mixture of songs from his latest release, his upcoming album and his back catalogue, much to the delight of the audience. Being the last show of the tour, there did appear to be that added energy in the room.  The crowd were in fine voice, they were up and dancing when they could be, and making their enjoyment obvious – even to the band on stage.

Jack added back story to some of his songs, started his encore with Io Che Non Vivo (Senza Te)/You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me – which had everyone joining in once the English part started – and, all in all, put on a good show.  Even for those not familiar/a fans of his music, it was entertaining.

Added to that, the impressive lighting work from David McIntyre (who got a name check), the only problem any fan would have had was he only played 18 songs.

Jack will be playing a few festivals over the summer, and some European shows in the autumn, but with the joy on his and his band’s faces, it can’t be long before more UK dates are on the books.
