‘RCA Studio A Sessions’ was introduced recently with Jade’s powerful cover of the Bee Gees classic ‘To Love Somebody’. This version was inspired by the legendary Dusty Springfield’s cover, which Jade instantly became “obsessed” with after first hearing. Jade’s tenacity and vocal grandeur truly come to life on this track, as she belts out the line “you don’t know what it’s like!”. The young singer/songwriter performs a beautiful version of track ‘Something American’ solo on the piano, making for a poignant experience, with the emotive live video being shared today. Her take on Radiohead’s ‘Black Star’ follows, giving the lyrics a whole new meaning as she harmonises effortlessly alongside Lucky Kilmartin in the live footage for the track.

In Jade’s own words, “In this whole process RCA studios in Nashville has become my new home, where magic just keeps pouring out and into the music. I’m holding on to the album for a few months longer but until then I have this EP for you, a collection of my favourite songs I performed live at RCA studio A earlier in the year. I wanted to release the video of us playing Black Star as I know a lot of you may have seen me playing it in your venue, in your city, and I appreciate you always took a minute to be silent and listen. The lyrics are so beautiful in this song.”

Jade burst back onto the UK music scene towards the close of 2020 releasing the brilliant ‘Headstart’ and ‘Houdini’, followed more recently by current single ‘Open up the heavens’ which (has just been added to the BBC Radio 1 playlist) and goes further to showcase Jade’s stunning songwriting capabilities.

Jade’s new album was recorded in RCA studios by powerhouse producer Dave Cobb (John Prine, Lady Gaga). Over the last 2 years, Jade has organically become part of a community of American songwriters and artists, and the likes of Jason Isbell, Sheryl Crow and Jade’s friend and collaborator, Brandi Carlile have all taken the British voice firmly under their wing.
