The Ovo Hydro party in Glasgow featuring acts from the 90s and 00s was an incredible night full of nostalgia, killer beats, and good vibes. Headliners like DJ Sash, had the packed venue singing and dancing along to their classic hits, transporting partygoers back to the golden era of dance music.
With a capacity of 13,000, the OVO Hydro is one of the largest arenas in Scotland and hosts some of the biggest music acts and events. It features excellent acoustics and sightlines, making it a premier concert venue.
Urban Cookie Collective started the night with singer Danielle A Barnett . Other popular acts kept the energy high all night long, , Eiffel 65 , Baby D, Urban Cookie Collective thrilling the enthusiastic crowd.
The acts kept the lively atmosphere going throughout the night. When Haddaway played his smash hit “What Is Love,” the crowd went wild singing along word for word. Phats & Small had people jumping and waving their hands during their chart-topping “Turn Around.” Basehunter aka Jonas Erik Altberg, known professionally as Basshunter,, supporting a beard rather than his slicker clean shaven look of the past perfomed his hits “No Your Gone” and many more. During the performance by 2 Unlimited, glow sticks filled the air and the venue was a sea of bouncing heads. “No Limits” and “Get Ready for This” and much more. Cappella’s “U Got 2 Let the Music” kept feet moving all night long. The nostalgic hits created a fun, high-energy vibe.
Overall, the atmosphere at the 90s/00s disco party was vibrant, enthusiastic and full of life. The acts fed off the crowd’s energy and kept spirits high with feel-good dance hits. Based on the excited reactions, it was clear everyone in attendance was having the time of their lives. The Ovo Hydro was buzzing with positive energy from start to finish.
N-Trance followed up “Set You Free” with other top charting singles like “Turn Up The Power” and a high-energy cover of Rod Stewart’s “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy.”
The Vengaboys also made a huge pop cultural impact, with songs like “We Like to Party” becoming stadium anthems. Their music videos were bold and colorful, perfectly encapsulating the fun party vibe of the 90s. Even today, it’s impossible not to sing and dance along when their hits come on.

DJ Sash , Sash’s set at this 90s/00s retro rave night ended the night and what a great highlight. Classics like “Encore Une Fois” are guaranteed to get the crowd singing and dancing along, reliving the nostalgic electronica sound that made him a global sensation. For those who experienced big beat electronic music the first time around, or for newer fans discovering it now DJ Sash, known for hits like “Ecuador” and “Encore Une Fois”, has been a mainstay in dance music since the 90s. The German DJ and producer rose to fame with his high energy piano house sound. Sash’s unique blend of pop vocals and catchy melodies helped make him one of the most recognisable acts in dance music.
