Carl Cox brings day two of Riverside Festival to an epic close

Glasgow’s Riverside Festival continued today with the second instalment in its three day Jubilee Bank Holiday weekender. Fans returned for another day of celebrating the best in electronic music against the stunning backdrop of Glasgow’s Zaha Hadid designed Riverside Museum.

The sun brought the capacity crowd out in numbers and saw the return of Carl Cox. The king of Ibiza, house and techno pioneer and one of the best to ever grace the turntables closed the day with a searing set fuelled with the infectious energy only he can bring. Joseph Capriati joined the party today, as well as DJ Boring, Joy Orbison and Overmono with a very special live set.

Dave Clarke, Festival Director, said: “The Riverside team have worked incredibly hard this year to bring fans one of the most diverse lineups we’ve ever had with some of the biggest in the scene playing alongside more underground names – plus a whole host of homegrown talent that we’re really excited about. As always, the energy from the crowd has been unrivalled and the great weather was just an added bonus.”

To top things off, as the festival closed tonight organisers opened the doors to the official after party: Riverside By NightSlamGary BeckNightwave and more will be keeping the party going across the SWG3 warehouse, only a stone’s throw away from the main site.

 Tomorrow, Riverside Festival 2022 comes to a close. Róisín Murphyheadlines, bringing her stunning visuals and incredible live show to the banks of the Clyde for what is set to be a truly euphoric finale. The Queen of Bounce herself aka Big Freedia will be making her Scottish debut, as well as sets from The xx’s Romy and Glasgow’s own Optimo (Espacio). Tomorrow also sees one of Glasgow’s most loved club nights Shoot Your Shot take over the Waterfront Stage with a host of amazing artists including Job Jobse HAAi,I.JORDAN + more.
