Palm Reader call it a day and announce farewell tour

Nottingham noisemongers have announced that they are splitting up.

The 7-piece have announced that their appearance at this year’s 2000 Trees Festival on 12th July will be their swansong after 13 years together. Preceding their final show they will undertake a short “Farewell Tour” consisting of 4 dates in Southampton, London, Manchester and a home city show in Nottingham.

The band recorded 4 studio LPs and it looks like that 2020’s Sleepless will be their last.

The band issued the following statement:

A Statement from Palm Reader

Dear Friends,

With a heavy heart, we have decided to end our time together as Palm Reader.

We all have very different priorities now, compared to the lives we led when we formed the band in 2011. We collectively feel that ending Palm Reader now rather than simply “going on hiatus” is the right thing for us to do as we grow as people and our lives move forward in different directions.

These last 13 years have been extraordinary, and we can’t thank you enough for being on this journey with us.  It has meant more to us than you’ll ever know.

We will be embarking on one last run of UK dates and we hope you can make it out and give us the honour of playing for you one last time.

July:

4th  Southampton, Joiners

5th  London, Camden Underworld

6th  Manchester, Academy 3

7th  Nottingham, Rescue Rooms

Tickets are available on Friday, March 8th at 10:00 am from:  www.wearepalmreader.com

Our final show will be on Friday, July 12th at 2000 Trees Festival – which we’ve always considered our spiritual home.

We hope to see you there.
