More Bollocks? Rumours grow as Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes announce indefinite hiatus

Hot on the heels of the recent sell out shows with Frank Carter, is there more to come in 2025?

Well that certainly caught most of us out last week, with the announcement that Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes are going on an indefinite hiatus. An educated guess, after the success and predominantly positive feedback from the shows, would not have been a stretch to suggest more is yet to come. However, I think most of us thought that would just be a US tour and then probably some festival appearances next summer.

With Frank Carter putting everything else on the back burner, it would appear to indicate that more is possibly planned and not just a load of touring. Whilst Oasis might be happy to trot off on tour to the US, it’s questionable whether Steve Jones has the appetite for any prolonged series of dates, even in his adopted homeland. What is more likely is some new material, followed by some prestige shows and festivals to showcase it. Would Frank Carter announce a hiatus just to do a shitload of live dates with the Pistols? How much prep would that require? Enough to put The Rattlesnakes on hold indefinitely? Unlikely I’d wager.

Here at PCN Magazine we were lucky enough to catch their shows at Bush Hall, Glasgow and Manchester, and we gave them a collective thumbs up. The Manchester show was suitably poignant due to the presence of a large number of the movers and shakers from the city music scene, a notoriously difficult bunch to impress, just ask Bob Dylan. Canvassing their opinions mid and post gig, it was far from the car crash that some naysayers had predicted, and those individuals were noticeably absent that night anyway.

So Frank with finish the UK and European dates with The Rattlesnakes, starting next week in Brighton on 15th Oct at Concorde 2 and ending in Eindhoven at the Helldorado Festival on 16th Nov.

Hopefully it won’t be too long before The Rattlesnakes reconvene but remember Fugazi have been on an indefinite hiatus since 2003, twenty one years and counting!!
