It’s a typical wet night in Glasgow and it’s the first of two nights of Michael Bublé’s ‘Higher Tour’ at the OVO Hydro. The stage curtains are lit with MB initials and a 5-minute countdown timer appeared as the seats are now full of a crowd waiting in anticipation for the main man himself to take to the stage.

The timer reached 10 seconds to go, and the crowd began to countdown, suddenly the music stopped and the intro to “Feeling Good” began to boom through the speakers as the curtains raised revealing the live band followed by Bublé finally taking to the stage.

Bublé went on to sing his well-known hit “Haven’t met you yet” before addressing the crowd and claiming he is happy to be home and thanking them for coming to the show. Bublé then went on to tell the crowd how bored he is of concerts and that tonight’s show is going to be a party before doing a small sample of the YMCA with the crowd singing and dancing along.

The setlist continued with a few covers including “L-O-V-E”, “Such a Night”, “Sway” and “When you’re smiling (The whole world smiles with you) before Bublé played more of his own hits, starting with “Home” which was clearly a fan favourite as they sang in unison. At the end of “Home” he looked at the crowd in awe and gushed about how much he loved Glasgow and that we are his people. Next came “Everything” and one of his newest songs “Higher”.

The rest of Bublé’s set was a mix of covers and his own songs including “I’ll Never Not Love You” and an Elvis Presley medley, he ended the main set on his well-known song “It’s a Beautiful Day” which of course had the crowd dancing and singing along before leaving the stage.

After a short interval and a solo from the live band, it was time for the 3-song encore of “Cry Me A River”, “How Sweet It Is” and ending with “Always on My Mind”.

Having seen Bublé before, I knew it wouldn’t be just like any other concert. Bublé isn’t just a singer, he’s a performer and he does an amazing job at putting on an amazing show. I would highly recommend seeing him at least once, you will not be disappointed!
