Josh Galanis of Southern Governor

During a recent performance of Tom Keifer and the #Keiferband at The Beacon Theater in Hopewell, Virginia, I was performing a camera test. The subject of my camera test was the opening act Southern Governor, specifically their drummer Josh Galanis. I was shooting with my Nikon D3 with a 300mm f/2.8 lens and a 1.4 teleconverter. After just several beats of the song, I was mesmerized by Galanis’s movements behind his drum kit, with his hair flowing all around his head, as if he were underwater. I continued shooting and captured these images over the next few songs.
