Greenville, SC – At the heels of Hurricane Florence and as some people were preparing for the work-week ahead of them, a Sunday evening crowd of concertgoers were out and thirsty for metal as The Iron Maidens made their South Carolina debut. Up the Irons for this all-female ensemble who generate an amazing display of power; they are the mother of tribute bands.

The Iron Maidens were originally formed in 2001, and although there have been changes in the line-up over the years, they continue to pack a punch and aptly celebrate the namesake. The band currently consists of vocalist Kirsten Rosenberg, bassist Wanda Ortiz, drummer Linda McDonald, guitarist Courtney Cox, and guitarist Nikki Stringfield. These mighty maidens blasted through an extensive set list, with favorites such as “2 Minutes to Midnight”, “The Trooper”, “Wasted Years”, “Aces High”, and “Run to the Hills”.

The headliners were joined by special guests Silver Tongue Devils and Arcane (with fill in support as their drummer was out on storm duty repairing power due to the hurricane), and hosted by The Firmament, a local music venue that has been providing a steady stream of bands since they opened their doors earlier this year and continues to firmly plant themselves in the scene.

Well done, ladies. Your debut in South Carolina was excellent!
