Following the huge success of the full return of Rewind last year we are thrilled to announce Rewind is back … bringing the 80’s to Scotland, North and South once again!!
Saturday night’s will by headlined by Erasure’s Andy Bell, making his Rewind debut. Erasure have sold over 25 million albums and achieved five consecutive number ones on the UK album chart. Hit singles including “A Little Respect”, “Sometimes” and “Always.” Sunday night’s will be headlined by Squeeze, also making their Rewind debut – who had top-ten chart hits with the singles “Cool for Cats”,“Up the Junction”,“Labelled with Love.”
In both Scotland and the South, the main stage show will be hosted by Pat Sharp (Greatest Hits Radio) on the Sunday, by The Doctor (Dr. & The Medics). In the North the main stage show will be hosted by Jenny Powell (Greatest Hits Radio) on the Sunday, by The Doctor (Dr. & The Medics). Plus, for your continued enjoyment The Pink Flamingo Club will once again be in the Big Top, an 80’s themed nightclub, with headline DJs Jenny Powell (Rewind North), Pat Sharp (Rewind Scotland & North) & The Doctor (all Rewind Festivals) spinning all your favourite 80’s tunes to keep the party atmosphere going well into the night! And if this isn’t enough …there are icons of the silver screen, there are Oscar winners, Bafta winners and
Golden Globe winners, but are there any of these global stars that you would rather sing with on stage other
than the coolest man of TV – Shaun Williamson. Yes, star of BBC’s EastEnders (Barry Evans) is bringing
BARRIOKE to Rewind North & Rewind South! Shaun hosts the event with his usual trademark warmth and teasing banter, accompanying participants on stage, creating a riotous, joyous moment that people will never forget. This is the ultimate Insta moment, something people will talk about forever and want to be part of.
Sunday nights will conclude with a fantastic firework display – what better way to end the weekend than with the skies being lit up with a stunning display.
And there’s more!!! Rewind Festival weekend is not just about who is performing on the main stage, but an event including other exciting entertainment such as Disco Inferno which opens up every day at each of the festivals, Silent Disco, funfair rides, kid- zone with entertainment for the little Rewinders, shops & stalls for jewellery, t-shirts, food & drink.
And if you have “the look of love” in your eyes & you want to give your “love plus one” a “little respect’ & fancy tying the knot with your “oh l’amour” in full Rewind Festival style then you can in the Inflatable
Church! Yes, the big church of rubbery love is once again rockin’ 80s vibes.
And for those wanting to make a whole weekend of it there’s the general camping area – the perfect place to pitch your tent! Or for those not wanting a night under canvas there are Campervan or caravan pitches and with shower and toilet facilities available within the campsite everything is only ever a short walk away.
Rewind are delighted that Greatest Hits Radio are once again Official Radio Partner and their very own
Jenny Powell says:
“I had an absolute blast at Rewind last year and it was great to be able to share all the best bits of this
incredible festival with Greatest Hits Radio listeners – I know they’ll be as excited as I am to find out which
80s superstars are hitting the stage for this year’s shows! I’ll be reuniting with my Greatest Hits Radio
colleagues Pat Sharp and Martin Kemp and cannot wait to see you all there for the good times and great
music.’ Yes, this year is bigger than ever and an event for us all to look forward to!”
