STRANGE BONES RELEASE NEW SINGLE & VIDEO ‘DEATHWISH’
DUE 20TH AUGUST ON FRKST / 300 ENTERTAINMENT
“They started life as a straight up guitar punk band and as they’ve grown and evolved, they’ve found this really heavy electronica side to their music. Watch out for Strange Bones”
– Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1
“A punk upbringing, unrivalled fearlessness and really, really good songs. Meet the UK’s most full-throttle young band”
– Rock Sound
“a distinctly urban, synth-trashing assault… Strange Bones were made for such strange times”
Blackpool four-piece STRANGE BONES have released new single and video DEATHWISH today, the next cut from their forthcoming debut album ENGLAND SCREAMS due 20th August via FRKST / 300 Entertainment.
DEATHWISH is an apocalyptic anthem, capturing STRANGE BONES’ penchant for huge choruses, intertwined with shattering riffs and pummelling electronica. Frontman Bobby Bentham explains, “Nobody is getting out alive. Deathwish is about feeling trapped by your surroundings and understanding the restraints that we have are put in place by nobody but ourselves. I have a strange relationship with Blackpool, UK, the dystopian Disneyland sea-side town that time forgot, the good and the bad of this place and how it has influenced me is portrayed in the song”.
A mutant creation spawned from a year of experimentation and pushing personal boundaries, forthcoming album ENGLAND SCREAMS is Strange Bones’ most authentic and ambitious work to date. With Bobby at the helm on writing, production, mixing and engineering, the record is a seismic, bone-crushing sonic escape. He explains “The idea for ENGLAND SCREAMS came from trying to understand the relationship between order and chaos, the two factions that fly different flags but create balance when they meet in battle. I want to be honest with myself about the obscurities of life and the mind. I’m not afraid of taking things to extremes, which aligns with the highs and lows of not just songwriting, but life in general. It’s where I feel comfortable when creating, completely outside of my comfort zone, which is fucked up, and asks the question if there was ever a comfort zone to begin with. The album also looks at the devil inside, and finding that balance between light and dark”.

Hailing from the murky depths of British seaside town Blackpool, the Bentham brothers Bobby, Will and Jack, were raised on a diet of classic punk and have been playing music together since they were children. Joined later by Nathan Sanderson on drums, STRANGE BONES’ unhinged and full-throttle sound is a mix of distorted guitars and heavy sub-bass, all held together with venomous vocal delivery and biting lyrics. “Strange Bones has never been driving in one lane, the whole fucking highway is open”, smiles Bobby.
The band have toured the UK and Europe tirelessly, earning a reputation for ferocious and adrenaline fuelled live shows that are as experimental visually as they are sonically. Recent highlights include support to Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, alongside performing at festivals such as Reading and Leeds and Download. STRANGE BONES‘ next port of call will be a UK co-headline run in June with label mates Calva Louise
