Everything is not what it seems’ – Otherlands Music & Arts Festival Teases 2023 Lineup

Otherlands Music & Arts Festival has begun dropping intriguing clues about the lineup for this year’s event, which will take place from 11-13 August 2023. The boutique Scottish music and arts festival is encouraging music lovers to guess the artists on the lineup from hints given in a series of social media posts and interactive posters. Can you guess the artist and unlock the lineup?

A lightbox with the slogan “Everything is not what it seems” appears in video posts on Otherlands’ social media channels, featuring iconic locations across Scotland including Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glen Coe, Calton Hill, Queensferry Crossing, and Scone Palace & Grounds. The distorted music playing in the background of the videos acts as a cryptic clue to the lineup announcement.

In addition, a series of posters have appeared across locations in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow with a QR code that reads “scan to unlock the lineup”. The code takes viewers to a web page with lyrical clues shown on a video with a background track.

The festival lineup will be fully revealed on Wednesday 25 January. Last year the inaugural edition featured a cutting-edge mix of electronic and live acts including BICEP (live), Jamie XX, Joesef, FOLAMOUR, Honey Dijon, Ricardo Villalobos, DJ Seinfeld and SHERELLE.

Presented by the established Scottish promoters FLY, Otherlands will return to the stately grounds of Scone Palace in the idyllic Perthshire countryside from 11-13 August 2023. This follows on from the hugely successful debut edition last year which has already positioned the event as a key fixture of Scotland’s festival scene.

The 3-day camping retreat of music, art and culture features the best acts in live and electronic music across five stages.

Tom Ketley, Festival Director said: “We are delighted to be launching the 2023 edition of Otherlands Music & Arts Festival. Our debut year exceeded all expectations and we can’t wait to share what we have in store for this year. Reflecting the adventurous ethos of the festival we’re excited to see who follows the clues to guess the first names confirmed.”
