Today, internationally-famed, singer-songwriter LP released her captivating new single “Angels” along with an accompanying video directed by Stephen “Norswrthy” Schofield (Halsey, Pharrell, Taylor Swift). The track was produced by Nate Campany (Tove Lo, K.Flay, Christina Aguillera) and Kyle Shearer (Becky G, Tove Lo, Carly Rae Jepsen), collectively known as Valley Girl, along with the album’s executive producer, Mike Del Rio (Kylie Minogue, X Ambassadors, Skylar Grey). “Angels” is the fifth single from LP’s highly anticipated new album,CHURCHES, set for release on December 3rd via SOTA Records/[PIAS] Recordings.  Click HERE to view the new video and HERE to listen to and purchase the song.

About the video’s creation, Schofield said, “My inspiration for ‘Angels’ was simply: let’s shoot LP in a nondescript setting —black backdrops and curtains with minimal propping— so that the focus is on her and her storytelling (the lyrics). We can add in supplemental footage —three redheaded Raphaelites or ‘Angels’— in a way that broadly informs the themes embedded in LP’s lyrics. I chose those Raphaelite-like subjects because I am personally interested in the works of Waterhouse, Dante Rossetti, and William Hunt. Something about pale skin, blue veins, and red hair pops from the canvas in an almost hyper-realistic way. Add this to LP’s image/performance and you get a potently beautiful palette from which to paint any kind of visual story. I hope you all enjoy ‘Story 1: [Angels].’ More stories to come!”

Churches’ first single “The One That You Love” had its TV debut on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” and has generated approximately 24M YouTube views of the official video, plus 20M Spotify streams. The album’s second single “How Low Can You Go” has 6.7M streams on Spotify, with 6.4M YouTube video views and hit Triple-A radio’s Top 3 most added songs. The video for the third single, “One Last Time” co-starring actor/filmmaker/model Jaime King, racked up nearly 15M YouTube views and 7.9M streams on Spotify. The fourth single Goodbyehas 2M YouTube video views and 1.4M Spotify streams. CHURCHES digital, vinyl, CD, and special t-shirt bundle pre-orders are available HERE.

In addition to tracks produced by Del Rio and Valley Girl, Churches includes production by Lars Stalfors (Health, Local Natives, Cold War Kids), two-time Grammy winner Dan Wilson (Adele, Pink, Leon Bridges, James Bay), Dan Nigro (Olivia Rodrigo, Carly Rae Jepsen, Sky Ferreira), and Isabella Machine Summers (Florence + The Machine).  The album was mastered by multi-Grammy winner Emily Lazar(HAIM, Maggie Rogers, The Killers, Vampire Weekend, Coldplay).
