Lainey Wilson’s recent tracks ‘Dirty Looks,’‘Neon Diamonds’ and ‘Things A Man Oughta Know’ have been huge driving factors, as the young artist fast becomes the hottest new talent from the Nashville scene.  Lainey Wilson now adds to the growing attention building around her by sharing the official video for ‘Things A Man Oughta Know’, which was described as a “must listen” by Rolling Stone. Watch HERE.

The track has already shot to 43 million streams and hit the global Shazam Discovery Top 50 chart and features on her new album ‘Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’’, which will be released on physical format on April 16th via BMG / Broken Row Records.

The tense ‘Things A Man Oughta Know’ video depicts a way in which a man “got it wrong” and highlights the need to stay alert when people mask their true intentions. Partially filmed in Lainey’s own home, it accentuates the importance of discernment, especially when character and intention are at odds.  The video features her long-term friend Sean O’Halloranas co-director alongside Chris Ashlee. The film also features O’Halloran’s daughter as well as Kurt Ozan, who performs inLuke Combs’ band.

Lainey Wilson commented, “I hoped that people would connect to this song and it’s been so incredible to see just how strong the reaction has been. For the music video, we wanted to create a piece of art where people could watch it and feel something all over again.”

The ‘Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’’ album finds Wilson unveiling her vulnerabilities in a collection of empowering songs that resonate with strength, courage and hope. Those themes are channelled through a warm, organic sound that she describes as “bell-bottom country”, which was honed with the Grammy Award winning producer Jay Joyce (Declan McKennaCage The Elephant). A prolific songwriter, Wilson co-wrote all of the album’s twelve tracks.

The singles ‘Things A Man Oughta Know’, ‘Dirty Looks’ and the swaggering party-starting energy ‘Neon Diamonds’ offer an initial taste of the album. Other highlights include ‘WWDD’ , which is propelled by a strident guitar riff and asks, ‘What would Dolly [Parton] do?’’, and ‘LA’, which adds vibrant funk and soul into the mix. And by the time she signs off with the slowburning title track, it’s clear that Lainey Wilson is poised to be discovered by a much bigger audience.

Lainey Wilson was just nine-years-old when she started writing songs about tequila and cigarettes, showing that she had an old soul from a young age. Her father, a farmer who dreamed of a career in country music himself, would play Glen CampbellHank Williams, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Buck Owens, while her grandfather would take her to bluegrass festivals. A family trip to Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry when she was a child solidified her decision to one day move from a tiny village in Louisianato Music City – and she fulfilled a lifelong ambition to play the historic venue early in 2020.

‘Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’’ is available to pre-order here. Physical products include a CD, a red vinyl, and some new merch designs.
