Cam Cole bangs his own drum in the Attic in Glasgow

Introducing Cam Cole…

Cam Cole is a difficult one to peg in that genre hole that needs to be filled when discussing or writing about music. To say he is a busker is to do him a huge disservice; to call him a street performer would be accurate but would not tell the whole story.

The multi-instrumentalist brings his unique brand of street performing indoors to the delight of a sell-out crowd at The Attic in Glasgow.

A small mix-up of indoor / stage times means a slightly shorter set than expected but no one will leave disappointed.

Cam Cole has a sound of his own. Why? Well, because he plays the whole show on his own; vocals, guitar, drums, and FX are all in his domain. The drum set up is something to see as well as hear; they are played in full by the ever-moving feet of Cam Cole as he expertly plays his ancient and sometimes out-of-tune guitar. The final result of the all-action setup is superb.

There is a little bit of Americana, a little bit of blues and a little bit of rock & roll as Cam Cole has the audience in the palm of his hand from minute one until the end; via a mad mosh pit! The main had demanded a mosh pit and, as usual, the Glasgow crowd were ready to oblige and then some!

This is an act that is plastered all over YouTube and is now being showcased on a tour of small venues around the UK; I hope the Gods of music we’re looking at tonight as, despite it being a one-man act, it deserves a bigger audience. Can a one-man act fill bigger venues? Yes, yes, and yes again!

Get yourself onto YouTube and check him out; buy tickets to see him play live at a venue near you (if there are any tickets left) and then treat your ears to some of his recorded music.

All in all, it was a cracking night at The Attic.
