DJ Prospect’s Scotland Cypher – video:

As part of the Fire In The Booth team, DJ Prospect knows a thing or two about putting together freestyles. Funded by Creative Scotland, shot at the legendary Glasgow venue SWG3 and with beats produced by the Edinburgh born Show N Prove, DJ Prospect presents an all-Scotland affair as the country’s finest spitters join forces on this Cypher, showcasing the variety and quality of the rap scene north of the border.

Featuring Shogun (who appeared on BBC’s Rap Game and known for his viral hit ‘Vulcan’), Ransom FA (who also appeared on BBC’s Rap Game), Oakzy B and other hotly tipped rappers Sherlock, McRoy and Melroze (all who have been championed by DJ Target at BBC 1Xtra), the Cypher showcases each artists’ distinctive flow and approach, highlighting the impressive diversity in Scottish rap and hip hop in 2021.
DJ Prospect has built one of the most solid reps on the scene, he was the first Scottish BBC 1Xtra resident ever, hosting Friday nights with Charlie Sloth. His Edinburgh club night Tipsy is THE premier urban party in Scotland and he’s hosted prestige private affairs for the likes of Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber, as well as curating and performing afterparties for the likes of 50 Cent, Jay-Z and Drake, not to mention a string of standout slots at festivals like Glastonbury, T In The Park, Wireless and many more.

Part. 1 of the Scotland Cypher is out now on all DSPs alongside the video which premiered on GRM Daily and audio premiered on DJ Target’s BBC 1Xtra show… Watch out for Part. 2 dropping 9th July.
