Texan rising indie alternative outfit Night Cap today release their second album It’s Happening, an unflinching yet hopeful exploration of heartbreak, growth, and emotional reckoning. Produced by Kolton Lee, and executive produced by Grammy Award–winner Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, James Bay, City and Colour), the record charts self-evolution, relationships, and identity, navigating life’s turbulence while carving out moments of stillness and clarity in the unknown.
This album is about change, not just what’s happening around you, but what’s happening inside,” explains bassist Alex Alfonso. “There’s no clean resolution here, just movement, and the decision to keep going even when it hurts.”
Night Cap have shared excerpts from the album in singles ‘Like That’ and ‘Lost’, which have seen support from Radio X and Amazing Radio. To mark the album release today, the band share latest single ‘Will You Call’, reflecting on the space between memory and acceptance. Ryan King (guitars & vocals) comments, “It looks back on a connection with care and admiration, even as it becomes clear that your paths are no longer aligned. It is about the quiet realisation that the people who shaped you may not be part of what comes next, and learning to be okay with that

Night Cap will be taking It’s Happening on the road with a 13-date US headline run in November 2025, tickets on sale HERE, with further dates to be announced soon.
Known for their signature blend of heartfelt melodies, dynamic instrumentation, and nostalgic yet forward-thinking sound, Night Cap has become one of Texas’s most talked about independent acts. Formed in Austin after meeting at college, the band quickly gained attention with their breakout debut single Everest, which has since surpassed 3 million streams. Since then, they’ve built a loyal following through sold-out shows across Texas, appearances at Austin City LimitsLuck ReunionFloat Fest, and a standout live session with Audiotree. Along the way, they have shared stages with acts like Dayglow, Mt. Joy, Wilderado, and Krooked Kings.
It’s clear from new album It’s Happening that Night Cap are embracing both personal and collective growth. The record marks a bolder, more mature sound; one that trades youthful idealism for emotional clarity. It offers a dose of reality and a new perspective, tracing the kind of growth that begins when you stop running from what hurts and start learning from it.
In vocalist Ryan’s own words, “This album is not about closure, it’s about movement. About what it takes to keep growing when the past still lingers in the room”.
