As they kick off a summer full of festivals and live performances, DOPSICKFLY have revealed the new video for the life-affirming latest single Red Light. Released earlier this month, the funk infused single has already been crowned as BBC Radio Scotland The Afternoon Show’s ‘Single of the Week’, with recent live performances at Knockengorroch, Solas and Eden Festival already proving it a firm favourite with fans.

Filmed in The Dockyard Social – a sprawling street food village in Glasgow’s West End – the new video is driven by the same joyful energy that undercurrents their sound. Led by New Orleanian singer-songwriter Ant Thomaz, the Glasgow-based four-piece consists of guitarist and vocalist Joe Djaelani, bassist Iona Chantal and drummer Ross Macpherson, who all feature in the video as it follows the band over the course of a night out.

Speaking on the new video, Ant Thomaz said: “Red Light starts with’ ‘She says: I Just wanna have fun’. So we all just wanted to do that and step out of our usual music positions to reenact a night out at the bar, dating and the hilarious things everyone says and does. Our drummer Ross really let go on this one which you can see at the end of the video!”

Red Light is the first release from the Glasgow-based four-piece since 2018’s acclaimed 4-track EP ‘Dreamerz Never Sleep’. Renowned for their uplifting medley of sounds, the band combine neo-soul and world music with lyrically explosive rap interludes, for a sound that is distinctively feel good.

Live, the band are known for their vibrant, energy-fuelled performances. Catch them this summer at Edinburgh Jazz Festival, Belladrum, Callander Jazz & Blues Festival, Doune The Rabbit Hole, Foodie Festival, and many more.
